Tanks, guys!

The water well guys snuck in under our noses and placed both tanks on the pad, hooked them up, and snuck away. They also put in the pump and hooked up the pipes to the well. The only thing that didn’t happen is the solar panels. Even though they were ordered two weeks ago, the order didn’t go through and they probably won’t arrive for another two weeks.

Bummer.

You guys do things differently than we do. We always put the tanks in last when there is some roof to hook them up to for immediate catchement.

Glad to see such progress though! I hope the solar panels come soon, but do they fit on the tanks? Ours are usually fitted to the roof.

The solar panels run the pump only so they're down by the pump. These tanks are getting their water from the well way down the hill, not from rainwater.

Is there one pipe to fill the tanks and second to drain them? Or is there just one pipe with water changing direction depending on whether you are filling or draining?

There is a 1-1/4" feed line from the well, then a 3" drain line to the house. The well guy wanted to keep them separate so you wouldn't be out of water when one is being repaired and putting a check valve on a smaller pipe is better. It's all "well guy" stuff.
